Family Doctors Associates is a long-established general practice serve in the Whangaparaoa community for over 25 years. We are located on the corner of Whangaparaoa Rd and Karepiro Dr in Stanmore Bay.  The next time you visit though you will notice we have changed our name to The Doctors Whangaparaoa

Having joined the Green Cross Health family nearly three years ago, it is a good time to show that we are part of The Doctors team.  This is a name change only (with a few new signs) but everything else is still the same. That’s because your usual medical team is here to continue providing high-quality medical care for you and your family’s health care needs.

Our team are very approachable and take pride in delivering our patient-focused professional medical services. Our purpose built medical facility expresses our principles well. Being designed to deliver the best in medical care while providing a bright, peaceful and comfortable environment for patients.


COVID-19 Notice:  In Alert Level 1 we recommend telephone or video consults where possible but in person consults are still available if necessary.  Phone 09 424 3001 to book appointments. To ensure everyone gets the help they need, and stays safe, we will be screening all appointment requests, which may involve calling you back with more details.  At Level 2 please advise if you have any cough, cold or flu-like symptoms.  You will be required to wear a mask when coming into our clinic and may be asked to wait in your vehicle until the doctor is ready for you.

This doesn't mean we think you have coronavirus, it's our part in helping keep our community safe and healthy. 

We do COVID-19 testing and our practice is safe to visit

Safety is our priority. We do COVID-19 testing in your car where possible or in an isolation room if an assessment is required. This means there's no additional risk to you when you visit for other medical issues. We have strict infection prevention standards in place.

Enrol Online

There’s no need to come into the clinic, you can enrol online - it’s secure and confidential. By enrolling with us you accept our Terms of Trade and the online form will guide you and you will need to upload suitable identification:  Enrol Here Online

Paper Enrolment

Paper enrolment forms are still available if you're not able to complete the online form. For each person enrolling, simply print and complete:  the Enrolment Form, an Adult or Child Medical Questionnaire, read and accept our Our Terms of Trade and email all files to including a copy of your suitable identification

Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to see casual patients.

  • Dr Anna Chae

    Dr Anna Chae

    General Practioner

    Dr Anna Chae grew up on the Coast after moving to New Zealand from Korea in 1996. She is a graduate of the University of Otago Medical School with a Diploma in Paediatrics and Certificate in Women’s Health from the University of Auckland

    Anna will be starting at Family Doctors in October 2019. Prior to joining The Doctors Whangaparaoa Anna worked in Henderson general practice and various specialities at Auckland and Waitemata DHBs. She is passionate about health education and disease prevention, and also enjoys spending time with youth in community activities.

  • Dr Sophie Robinson

    Dr Sophie Robinson

    General Practioner

    Sophie grew up in South West England and qualified as a GP in London.

    She has an interest in Sports and Exercise Medicine and is currently undertaking a part-time masters. She has sporty extracurricular interests also, enjoying cycling and triathlons in her spare time and is looking forward to exploring New Zealand, having recently moved from the UK.

  • Dr Susi Gregson

    Dr Susi Gregson

    General Practioner

    Susi trained in London, qualifying from King’s College School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1993.

    She has worked in General Practice in the UK (Devon and Wiltshire) for many years. Susi moved to New Zealand with her family in 2005, and lives in Orewa with her husband and 2 young sons.

  • Dr Clare Hookings

    Dr Clare Hookings

    General Practitioner, Vocationally Registered

    Clare has lived on the Hibiscus Coast for 12 years with her husband and teenage boys.

    She graduated with a Diploma in Obstetrics from the Auckland Medical School and went on to work in general practice in West Auckland. Following this Clare continued in general practice on the North Shore for 17 years where she continued to develop her love for providing family-centered health care. On her days off Clare enjoys being in the outdoors, especially the bush and the beautiful beaches in the area and is also keen on conservation issues.

  • Dr Minet van Zyl

    Dr Minet van Zyl

    General Practitioner

    Minet is South African but did work in Rotorua previously for seven years before returning to her native country to run her own practice for ten years.

    She now lives in Manly with her husband Alex and three school-age children. Her hobbies are reading, cooking and cycling. Minet is a very experienced and knowledgeable GP and is great with patients

  • Dr Catherine Ripley

    Dr Catherine Ripley

    General Practitioner, Vocationally Registered

    Dr Catherine Ripley has been a resident on the Hibiscus Coast since 1994 when she came to work at The Doctors Whangaparaoa.

    She has 3 children and her husband Paul is a Nurse Specialist. Catherine has also had time overseas working in the Kingdom of Tonga and having a year in Canada. She loves being a family GP and being a part of the team here at The Doctors Whangaparaoa.

  • Dr Peter Hall

    Dr Peter Hall

    General Practitioner, Vocationally Registered

    Dr Peter Hall came to work on the Coast in 1987, has raised his family here and is very much part of the community. He trained at Auckland Medical School before completing a Diploma in Obstetrics and then going on to gain his Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. Peter enjoys looking after families and is now seeing some of the babies he delivered growing up to have children of their own. His special interests are ADHD and travel medicine, as well as doing minor surgery. Peter is the founder and owner of The Doctors Whangaparaoa and has expanded the practice to include a very impressive team of General Practitioners.

  • Dr Caleb Goh

    Dr Caleb Goh

    General Practioner

    Dr. Caleb Goh joined The Doctors Whangaparaoa in June 2020. He was born in New Plymouth and grew up in Malaysia, returning to study in Dunedin at the University of Otago Medical School in 2010.

    Since graduating he has moved to the North Shore with his wife and young baby. In that time he has worked in various specialties mostly across Auckland, North Shore and Waitakere hospitals and holds a Certificate in Women’s Health from the University of Auckland. Outside of doctoring and coping with (and enjoying) baby, he enjoys music, keeping fit and all things food related.
